Green Building Consulting

Green Building Consulting was founded in 2004 by Barb Yankie. Since becoming involved in the certification process for green programs, GBC has participated in over 60 certified projects as a LEED for Homes Provider and/or LEED Green Rater. Green Building Consulting currently has over 80 projects in 6 states at some stage of the LEED for Homes process. We have certified almost 800 ENERGY STAR homes while doing energy modeling of approximately 2,000 residential units.

Green Building Consulting is currently a LEED for Homes Provider, Enterprise Green Communities Technical Assistance (TA) Provider and HERS Rating Provider.

We have the following expertise/accredited professionals on staff: LEED for Homes Provider, 3 LEED AP Homes, LEED Faculty member, 2 LEED for Homes Quality Assurance Designees, 4 LEED Green Raters, Enterprise Green Communities Technical Assistance (TA) Provider, HERS Rating Provider, 3 HERS raters, RESNET Green Rater, NAHB verifier, DOE Challenge Home Verifier, and LEVEL II Infrared Thermographer (ASNT Compliant).

Barb Yankie is also a member of the RESNET (Residential Energy Services Network) National Board of Directors and the Cincinnati USGBC Chapter Board of Directors. Some additional current and past affiliations include Energy Star Partner, Habitat for Humanity Partner, BPI Technical Advisory Committee member, NAHB Energy Value Housing Award and Builder of the Year Award Judge, ACI Core Conference Committee Member, and Home Builders Association member.
