Insight Chicago, LLC is the latest addition to the Herman Miller dealer network in Chicago. Founded in 2011 by Jimmy Akintonde and Pat Degnan, the partners represent a unique mix of minority entrepreneurship and contract furniture distribution expertise. As a minority-owned business, Insight is in the final stages of certification with the NMSDC (National Minority Supplier Diversity Council). Akintonde, Insight’s President and CEO and majority owner in the company, is also the founder of Ujamaa Construction, Inc.; a highly successful minority-certified (MBE) general contractor located on the south side of Chicago. Degnan, Insight’s Vice President of Marketing, brings 30 years of furniture industry experience to the new business as a former owner of Desks, Inc., a major commercial office furniture dealer in the region. Together the owners of Insight promise service excellence to Chicago area customers by engaging a team of experienced sales and project management leadership, as well as fresh, energetic sales talent.
