Skanska's Five Zero Core Values:
Zero loss-making projects
Zero environmental incidents
Zero ethical breaches
Skanska’s mission is to develop, build and maintain the physical environment for living, traveling and working. A 2010 USGBC Leadership Award winner, Skanska combines responsible behavior and specific business offerings to deliver solutions that promote a more sustainable world. It helps clients through commercial development, preconstruction, green consulting efforts and its operational expertise.
As one of USGBC’s earliest members, Skanska sees huge opportunity in proactive environmental management. As the industry seeks net-zero water and energy use and increased use of sustainable materials, Skanska is playing a leading role in pointing the way to this new built environment.
Skanska produced its first Environmental Report in 1997 and two years later published its Environment Policy. By 2000, all its business units worldwide were certified to ISO 14001, an industry first, meaning it creates a customized environmental plan on every single project, catering to each project’s unique needs.
