I have 18 years experience in design thinking in the fields of green building consulting.
I lived and worked in Seattle WA for 8 years where I start developing my Green buidlign expertise and approach. On returning to my home country Mexico in 2009 I have been working to enhance the standards for the building industry creating a consulting firm that has helped more than 20 iconic projects to achieve LEED certification to either gold or platinum level.
Alicia Silva is an architect by training, holds an Green MBA in sustainable
enterprise from UMA, is a certified Sustainable Building Advisor, and a LEED
Professional with credentials in LEED BD C, O M and ID C rating systems.
A native of Mexico City, Alicia and her family moved to Seattle in 2001 where
she first learned about LEED and green building. In 2009 she founded
Revitaliza Consultores, a key player in LEED certification in Mexico and
Latin America. Her firm specializes in LEED certification for complex and
iconic projects, from manufacturing to historic buildings
She currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for SUMe
(Sustentabilidad para México), USGBC’s sister green building council in
Mexico. She also serves on USGBC’s Materials and Resources Technical
Advisory Group, the Supply Chain Manufacturing Group, and the USGBC Education Committee. As the representative of SUMe and Mexico to the LEED International Roundtable, Alicia is responsible for contributing to the continuous improvement and evolution of the LEED rating system for improved results in the Mexican market.
A dedicated educator, Alicia has trained over 600 students and has helped
more than 150 individuals to obtain the LEED credential. She believes that
education is the greatest tool for market transformation and sees every
opportunity for collaboration as a means of greening the world. Her firm
offers expertise in LEED project administration, commissioning and energy
modeling, integrated design, LEED compliance for manufacturing and materials, and LEED portfolio management.
Her goal is to transform the building industry in Mexico and Latin America,
to support a better quality of life for all, and to build a sustainable future
where community and business growth is aligned with the vitality of the
planet and wellbeing of future generations.
