Commercial Business Development Manger
Responsible for overseeing our company's developing commercial sales & support division. Allen will work with SGM’s extensive distributor network covering over 65 countries worldwide pushing commercial specifications and developing both distributor and architectural educational programs. Leveraging past successes in markets around the world, Allen will advance our relationships with international partners and expand SGM’s presence in the Architectural & Commercial field both domestically, with companies and architects designing abroad, and eventually develop a team of professionals overseas in meeting Solatube Global Marketing’s 2020 initiative.
Allen attended the University of Maryland where he earned a B.S. in Industrial Education with focus on Architecture and Technical Drafting. His 28 years of professional experience includes all facets of the millwork and fenestration industry, beginning at an early age in the building industry leading to ground floor sales to senior sales and management for the largest premier window and door manufacturers in the US.
In 2004 Allen founded Paradise Building Specialties Inc., a wholesale distributor of Eagle Window and Door Inc., a subsidiary of Andersen Window Corporation. Within 3 years, PBS Inc. grew market share to become the largest distributor of Eagle Windows and Doors in the US. In 2005 Allen was selected to Eagle’s Customer Advisory Council and served as Vice Chairman. In 2006 he was elected to and served as Chairman until the Council was dissolved in 2010.
Immediately prior to joining Solatube Global Marketing Inc. Allen served as Director of Sales and Marketing for Caoba Doors, a manufacture of luxury architectural windows, doors and millwork located in Antigua, Guatemala.
