Anne Hicks Harney has over 30 years of experience, with an emphasis on providing high quality design imbued with a solid technical foundation and a sustainable emphasis.
Formed in 2016, Long Green Specs provides sustainability focused construction specifications and building science expertise to Architectural firms across the country.
In 2013 she was a founding co-chair of the Baltimore BEC – Building Enclosure Council, a forum for sharing ideas and experiences on building design and science issues.
Since 2014 she has been active in the AIA Materials Knowledge Working Group, identifying the AIA's role in the growing issue of Materials Transparency, while raising awareness and providing resources to assist AIA members in making better informed product decision. She is currently the chair person for this national AIA committee.
Since 2014 she has been a member of the USGBC Materials & Resources Technical Advisory Group. The MR TAG recommends technical solutions to this Category of the LEED rating system including credit changes and adjustments, prerequisite improvement and supporting tool development.
Ms. Harney has been a speaker at various conferences, including Greenbuild, ILFI unconference, AIA National Conference, DesignDC and ArchEast.
In 2014, Ms Harney was awarded the USGBC MD Green Building Leader Award, for her leadership in Sustainability.
In 2016, Ms Harney was elected to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows and was named a LEED Fellow by the United States Green Building Council.
