Annette Stelmack, LEED® AP BD+C, USGBC Faculty™, is the founding principal
of Inspirit-llc. Inspirit-llc is a sustainable design consultancy firm that
instills courage and life by inspiring through a fusion of environmental
stewardship and creativity.

Annette brings over 30 years of experience in the building industry as a
nationally recognized sustainable design leader, educator and author.
Stelmack innately guides project teams with her passion, knowledge and
strategies for sustainability. A LEED® AP Building Design + Construction
design professional, she excels in programming, planning, design, research,
documentation, specification and implementation of interior architectural
finishes/details and furnishings for multi-unit housing, residential,
hospitality and spa projects. One of her specialties is addressing multiple
chemical sensitivities for clients toward the highest level of indoor air
quality by vetting products with extensive research and assessment.
Annette’s favorite project embraces an integrative approach where mutual
respect leads to exceeding the project objectives and providing a high
performing, healthy, and sustaining building community paramount to a
projects success.

Annette is an engaging, sought after presenter, educator, and facilitator.
She develops and teaches sustainable curriculum through strategic public and
private partnerships, USGBC Faculty, American Society of Interior Designers
(ASID), and Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC). An innate
teacher, Annette brings a contagious passion for sustainability to all her
endeavors. Through her leadership, spirit, expertise, and resourcefulness she
facilitates an integrative approach engaging others and leaving no stone
unturned.

USGBC Faculty are the official instructors of USGBC's instructor-led
workshops working with USGBC's education delivery partners. Annette is
approved to teach the following instructor-led workshops:
* LEED 101: Green Building Basics and LEED
* LEED 201: Core Concepts and Strategies

With numerous awards and recognition as a designer and advocate for
sustainability, healthy and high-performing design is paramount to Annette,
exemplified through her co-authored book ‘Sustainable Residential
Interiors’ published in 2007 by Wiley & Sons. Teaming with co-authors
Foster and Hindman, they crafted a book that takes readers through
sustainable principles and practices, integrated design, and how these apply
to interior design on multiple levels. The authors’ work is an acknowledged
catalyst for change awarded the Joel Polsky Prize by ASID Foundation in 2008
recognizing their outstanding academic contributions to the discipline of
interior design.

As a founding member of the USGBC Colorado Chapter in 2002, Annette pioneered
Colorado’s sustainability community, and is honored to once more serve as
the Chapter’s chair. Recently USGBC Colorado honored Annette as Volunteer
of the Year for her dedication and service since the chapter’s formative
years when she served as steering committee chair, the chapters’ first
president, and co-led the Finance committee for Greenbuild ‘06 Denver Host
Committee. She also chairs USGBC Special Programs Working Group for
Greenbuild and in prior years was honored to chair ASIDs National Sustainable
Design Council and Colorado’s Green School Initiative, along with serving
on the advisory board for Healthy Home 2010.

In her spare time she loves organic gardening, kayaking, biking, and spending
time with family and friends.
