Asmaa El Goweni graduated from Cairo University of Architecture in 1987 and worked for Seifert International Cairo until cofounding Archimid in 1991 with Glenn Patten .She became an Egyptian registered architectural consultant in 2006 beside being a member in the Association of Project Managers UK and US Green Building Council (USGBC) .
Asmaa El Goweni is the Co founder and Director of Archimid Architects an Egyptian architectural consultancy practice since 1991 providing broad architectural , interior design and engineering services to a wide range of commercial projects particularly corporate office design and retail bank branches for international organisations . With spearheaded workplace and retail design, strategy and methods for the company's corporate portfolio Archimid has become a leader in Egypt in the market sectors of bank retail expansion and corporate space planning and fitting out and has pioneered the introduction of sustainable design in Egypt with the first LEED rated office building in Egypt and Africa.
Recent works include construction and fit out of HSBC Egypt Global Service Centre in Smart Village – Cairo, where Archimid was appointed as the Architect, Lead consultant, interior designer and Contract Administrator. The building serves as a global hub for HSBC providing call centre and office areas on 21000sqm. Following HSBC sustainability directions, the building was designed and built to international green building rating systems and has successfully accomplished Leed Gold from USGBC to become the 1st Leed certified building in Egypt and in Africa.
