Active in sustainable initiatives throughout her career, Barbara is focused on helping clients assess and manage their environmental impacts, and providing innovative solutions that support and add value to achieving business objectives tied to environmental and human capital objectives. Barbara's work includes providing strategic direction on sustainable practices and in identifying green operating solutions, which is highlighted by her leadership of the team that secured the first multi-tenant LEED® for Existing Buildings certification in Canada. By combining her understanding of tenant’s organizational needs, building operations & behavioural science, she developed an industry leading and award winning program for occupant engagement. She first launched the program at one of Canada's most preeminent buildings, Cadillac Fairview’s Toronto-Dominion Centre.
Barbara also leads the roll-out of JLL’s proprietary workplace strategy tool, an integrated process to help Corporate Occupiers of leased office space maximize the return on their real estate investment. It is built on the premise that maximum value is delivered through an integrated strategy of the following THREE DIMENSIONS of sustainable real estate; a BASE BUILDING which is energy efficient, environmentally health and cost effective; TENANT SPACES which are healthy, inspiring and efficient; and, TENANT ENGAGEMENT which drives sustainable actions.
