Billy Bennett is currently the Director of the Center for Environmental
Education and part time faculty in the College of Education at Eastern
Kentucky University. Through collaboration with EKU and other universities He
promotes the use of the environment as a basis for teaching across the
curriculum areas. Mr. Bennett works closely with pre-service and in-service
teachers as well as community groups to further the goals of environmental
education. He has made many presentations at state, national and
international professional organizations.
Billy holds a Bachelor’s in Middle School Education, Teaching (2004), a
Masters in Secondary Education, Teaching (2006) and a Masters in Elementary
Education, Teaching with an emphasis in Middle School (2008) at Eastern
Kentucky University. Currently he is a doctoral student in educational
leadership at EKU. He holds a Rank 1 Kentucky Teaching certificate for 5-8th
grade Science and Social Studies, 8-12th grade Earth Science, and has a K-12
Endorsement for Environmental Education.He is a certified environmental educator through the Kentucky Environmental Education Council.
His professional affiliations include North American Association for Environmental Education, National Science Teachers Association, Kentucky Association for Environmental Education, Kentucky Science Teachers Association, Kentucky Institute for International Studies. and the Kentucky University Partnership for Environmental Education.
