Carissa is an Energy Engineer with EnergyLogic and has been with the
organization since July 2006. She has a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and
a Masters in Business Administration. She became a Certified Energy Manager
in March 2012 and a Colorado Licensed Professional Engineer in October 2012.
Carissa provides Professional Engineering services to architects, general
contractors and building owners to help them build more energy, water, and
resource efficient buildings. Furthermore, she delivers Professional
Engineering services for ENERGY STAR MFHR and commercial certification.
Carissa performs commercial energy modeling for new and existing buildings,
including ASHRAE 90.1 compliance evaluation using eQuest energy modeling
software. In addition, she assesses existing commercial buildings for both
energy efficiency and environmental impact. She can also provide consultation
for LEED BD&C, ID&C, O+M, ND, and Homes certification.
Carissa has been not only the primary interface with the USGBC for LEED® for
Homes but also with the NAHB’s National Green Building Program and the
EPA’s WaterSense Program. Carissa has achieved multiple certifications
relevant to these activities and has worked on hundreds of green homes in the
context of these programs. She answered questions regarding both energy
ratings and sustainability programs for EnergyLogic Rater-Partners across the
United States and abroad.
Carissa has also distinguished herself as one of the USGBC Faculty™ members
by being highly trained in both green building practice and instructional
methods. She has taught several courses on LEED® and LEED® for Homes,
specifically, she has taught Homes 401 over twenty times. She has taught a
commercial energy auditing course. Carissa is a Residential Energy Services
Network certified Quality Assurance Designee and a LEED® for Homes Quality
Assurance Designee and Green Rater.
USGBC Faculty are the official instructors of USGBC's instructor-led
workshops working with USGBC's education delivery partners. Carissa is
authorized to teach the following instructor-led workshops:
