Carrie is a Senior Associate, serving as a Senior Sustainability Coordinator for Moseley Architects. Carrie works with clients, design teams, and contractors to incorporate high performance and sustainable elements into projects. She has worked on over 25 schools, civic buildings, or correctional facilities that have achieved or are pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. During the course of the project, Carrie assists in the selection of building systems, strategies, and technologies that improve energy and water efficiency, using a life-cycle framework to minimize both environmental impact and operational costs. Carrie also provides input related to building materials and finishes from an indoor environmental quality perspective in order to promote a comfortable and safe setting for building occupants.
Carrie studied Environmental Science at the University of Virginia. Prior to joining the staff at Moseley Architects, Carrie worked as a Project Manager for Apex Companies, an environmental consulting firm. At Apex she performed environmental assessments and remediation of properties with subsurface contamination or with hazardous building materials such as asbestos and lead paint. Carrie volunteers for the James River Green Building Council and has served on several committees, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors.
