Cesar Garcia has been an advocate for sustainable architecture through both the private sector and his involvement in the Balcones Chapter of US Green Building Council. He served as San Antonio Government affairs CO-Chair from 2007-2009. While Co-Chair he served on the committee for High Performance Schools which held a symposium in 2006 & 2009, educating school districts in central Texas on the benefits of sustainable construction. His expertise in sustainable design led to his involvement with the first San Antonio Green Building Resolution, passed in 2007. As Co-Chair he also participated in the Mayors Sustainability Task Force through the Balcones Government Affairs chapter, which ultimately resulted in the adoption of the Mission Verde Sustainability Plan for the city of San Antonio.
Cesar’s passion of sustainable practices has helped to better educate his clients, co-workers and lecture audiences of the direct correlation between our carbon footprint, energy use and resources consumed; along with a new awareness of conservation, self impact of the built environment and the value of sustainable development.
My philosophy is that change starts with one individuals passion to make a difference and the dedication to see it through. Life is a series of challenges that requires creative solutions, understanding the fundamental questions allows us to obtain solutions.
