I have been a lifelong environmentalist; having my first business, recycling, at the age of five, I canvassed my neighborhood educating my neighbors about the advantages and benefits of recycling, and in turn, living more sustainably and reducing their carbon footprint. While I was in middle school I helped develop the first S.A.V.E (Students Against Violating the Environment) program at the high school for students there. S.A.V.E. is now a nationwide extra-curricular high school program. During my studies at C.U, I worked on two Solar Decathlon projects, both winning awards at the national level, one taking first place. Since graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Environmental Design, I have worked primarily in residential architecture and construction. My work on these projects have provided me with a very appropriate background and skill set to understand, perform and share the knowledge pertaining to being a BPI Building Envelope Analyst, Home Energy Auditor, and LEED AP in today’s Green Collar Job world.
