Dagmar B. Epsten, FAIA, LEED Fellow, CxA, is the founder and CEO of Epsten
Group, Inc., a 50-person multidisciplinary architecture and building
consulting firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Since she founded the firm
in 1991, Epsten Group has been recognized twice as one of the Top 300 Small
Businesses of the South and has been listed in Inc. Magazine’s list of
fastest-growing private companies in America. Services include
architecture/interior design, LEED consulting/BIM-based energy modeling,
commissioning/re-commissioning, building envelope/roofing/ waterproofing
consulting and green building/product certifications according to ISO/IEC

Ms. Epsten, who has worked with LEED since 2000 and holds all five LEED
specialties (LEED AP BD+C, O+M, ID+C, ND, HOMES), is a registered architect,
certified commissioning authority, certified construction specifier, USGBC
Faculty, and Georgia’s first LEED Fellow. She has been involved as
architect or consultant in many endeavors, including large, complex
facilities, sustainable showcase buildings, multiple-building portfolios,
campuses and international projects, and has served many government agencies,
institutions, corporations, nonprofits and private clients.

Epsten Group is the global leader in LEED certification reviews, having
provided over 7,500 in more than 50 countries. Other recent firm experience
includes projects in Switzerland, Germany, Mexico and Argentina. Ms. Epsten
is an active presenter at international conferences, including in Norway,
Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.

Ms. Epsten is a founding member of the USGBC Atlanta Regional Chapter (now
the Georgia chapter and Atlanta branch), has served on the Board of Directors
for Green Chamber of the South, is a steering group member of Georgia
Environmental Conference, and serves on the Executive Advisory Board of the
College of Architecture at Georgia Tech. She is the recipient of several
sustainable design and achievement awards, including the Construction
Specifications Institute’s national Environmental Stewardship Award in

Ms. Epsten received a diploma engineering degree in architecture along with
an award for environmental solutions in Karlsruhe, Germany; her thesis on
daylighting was published as a book. She then obtained a Masters in
Architecture at Georgia Institute of Technology. In recent years her firm’s
growing international recognition has allowed her to reconnect with Germany
through services in the European market.
