He is a Senior Vice President and Director of Sustainability for WSP Flack + Kurtz, a Fellow of AIA, a licensed Professional Engineer and an ASHRAE certified Building Energy Modeling Professional. He is Vice Chair of the ASHRAE/USGBC/IESNA Standard 189.1 Committee and an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer. He is a member of the New York City Department of Buildings Sustainability Review Board. He was a Director of the USGBC NY Chapter, the AIA National Committee on the Environment, and was Vice Chairman of the USGBC Energy and Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group. He has been an author of six of the ASHRAE Advanced Energy Design Guide publications. He was one of Engineering News Record’s “Newsmakers of 2007.” He has been a faculty member at the Schools of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Cornell University and Columbia University. He has been involved in energy efficiency and sustainability in buildings for over 30 years and is the author of numerous papers in professional and technical journals.
