Mr. Young Dixon’s early significant contributions to the Green Building industry include promoting green building and sustainability in relationships developed with the Minnesota Housing and Redevelopment Authority designing and building passive solar housing prototypes, helping to establish high performing energy efficient housing standards, and working with the DOE to monitor and document passive solar performance through grant programs. As a Project Manager for Hennepin County Property Services, Dan established and co-chaired the Hennepin County Sustainable Design Committee which authored the Hennepin County Sustainable Design Guidelines. These guidelines evolved to become the Minnesota Sustainable Design Guide, known as “B3” for Buildings, Benchmarks and Beyond, serving as regional guidelines for public buildings in Minnesota.
