Dave Ray is as well the former owner of ServiceMax Cleaning Systems a firm that initiated Green Cleaning and Sustainable Operational Maintenance in Nevada over a decade ago, not only survived, but thrived by adapted the business to remain an industry leader.
By transitioning ServiceMax's business from an antiquated average business into a dynamic goal oriented segment leader, many lessons were learned. Not only did the transition involve the change into a Green
Cleaning operation, but also involved diversifying the operation into an
accommodating customer service oriented entity. From the economic hiccup after 9-11 to 2008's more recent financial meltdown, Dave persevered, being able to keep his clients happy in addition to offering additional services by diversifying ServiceMax's operations.
Motivating a great team of professionals that started from the ground up has been the key to success. Working with goal driven clients and providing the educational insights of how and why to demand Green Cleaning, has provided the need to continue on developing not only personnel, but systems as well.
Prior to opening ServiceMax, Dave began his career after receiving a
Bachelors degree in Political Science from The University of Massachusetts. From there the interest to move back West was powerful. Initially Dave began the journey in Denver, Colorado. Working straight commission as a financial planner and working his way to District manager for Fortis financial group taught Dave the value of customer service and the need to continued education. After 4 years, and still having the interest to continue west a move to Las Vegas was imminent. In 1994 Las Vegas became home. Working as a Regional Director and opening an office for Jani King, an international franchise company, Dave became interested in business ownership. After working for Jani King, which included living in Los Angeles for a year, Dave moved back permanently and opened the small business which continues to grow.
As a founding member and Board member for BOMA(Building Owners and Managers Association), experiences such as lobbying, moderating, organizing and motivating became second hand as that organization grew. Although still an active member, it was the USGBCNV ( US Green Building Council Nevada Chapter) that brought back the bug in sustainability that Dave was missing from his youth on a farm. Giving back to the community that provided a business was the main factor in Dave becoming a Board member and President of the USGBC Nevada chapter. As Past President, Dave still is involved with advocacy and Green Schools.
