Deon Glaser is the Director of LEED International Technical Development, responsible for the improvement of the LEED rating system to better address the needs of green building projects around the world. Deon works closely with the LEED International Roundtable, engaging international professionals in the LEED development process and identifying opportunities for local solutions. With USGBC since 2006, Deon has managed multiple development activities including the LEED 2009 rating system and operational strategic improvements for the organization. Her depth of experience with the development of LEED is instrumental in ensuring the rating system meets the needs of users on a global scale.
Ms. Glaser served on the Steering Committee of and is a Technical Advisor to the Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES), an interdisciplinary program to create voluntary guidelines and performance benchmarks for sustainable land design, construction and maintenance practices. Deon also serves on the Advisory Board of Kansas State University’s Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning.
Deon received her degree in Landscape Architecture, a profession in which she worked prior to joining USGBC.
