An electrician by trade for 20 years with a few odd jobs in between to experiment in other careers. Served 3.5 years in the US Army 82nd Airborne Unit, and was a ski lift operator enjoying the outdoors for a year as well.
Currently living and working in Austin, Texas within the highly awarded public utility of Austin Energy. I, along with team members are O&M Specialists maintaining the critical equipment at the City of Austin's 911/Emergency Mngt/Homeland Security facility CTECC.
This building holds a LEEDs silver status and I am excited to become an LEEDs O&M AP for this facility and continue to maintain its integrity and status as such.
My interests in a LEEDs credential is to become part of a known community that truly has a passion for anything that deals with saving energy and the environment in any capacity.
Being able to act on LEEDs requirements and have a thorough knowledge of what is needed to maintain energy and environmental qualities and standards, all while doing my daily responsibilities at my place of employement, just is an added bonus to my love of everything outdoors and doing my/our part to preserve all our natural resources and quality of life for future generations.
That being said I will be actively pursuing a career within Austin Energy's Sustainable, Green, Solar units soon after I pass my exam and can focus more of my passion for the environment in a career that will be more rewarding and more of an impact than my current position.
With an electrical license, first stage of solar installer certification done and a LEEDs credential, I hope will pave the way for an exciting and new career.
