As VP for Global Product and Service Delivery, Doug is responsible for strategic execution of USGBC and GBCI initiatives including LEED certification, test development and delivery, and technical resources and tools.
With 20+ years in the environmental policy field, Doug has spent most of his career creating market transformation initiatives. Doug was USGBC's executive project lead for the build out and deployment of LEED v4. He also led the development of several LEED technical solutions including LEED Volume and Campus.
Prior to joining USGBC, Doug worked for nearly 10 years at the U.S. EPA . He was team lead with the ENERGY STAR Buildings program and also spent a year as senior adviser in the Office of the EPA Administrator. In the early 1990s he was a program manager at the Washington, DC based Climate Institute and as a consultant to US Department of Energy. Doug has authored publications on climate change mitigation strategies, energy efficiency and building energy retrofits and project financing.
Doug holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Duke University and a Master’s in Public Policy from Georgetown University. He lives with his wife and two children in Silver Spring, MD.
