Doug is Vice President for delivery of programs and services across USGBC and
GBCI. His responsibilities include executive oversight of certification, professional credentialing, and LEED program resources including LEED online, credit library, reference guides and other program support functions. Doug has also served as senior project manager for the build out and deployment of LEED v4.
With more than 20 years experience in energy and environmental policy, Doug has worked on climate change response strategies and voluntary pollution prevention for most of his career. He has authored publications on climate change mitigation strategies, energy efficiency program design, and energy efficiency project financing. Prior to joining USGBC, Doug worked at the U.S. EPA for ten years where he served as a senior adviser in the Office of the Administrator, and before that as National Program Manager for ENERGY STAR Commercial Buildings. From 1992-1996, Doug was as a project manager at the Washington, DC based Climate Institute. Doug holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Duke University and a Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University. He lives with his wife and two children in Silver Spring, MD.
