Duygu Erten

Dr. Erten is a graduate of Boğaziçi University in İstanbul, Turkey where
she earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rutgers University and worked as a research fellow at Princeton University. She worked as a project manager on Program Management teams managing large, complex projects for a multinational firms in USA. She was an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California (USC) and authored several papers. She later received her degree from Harvard School of Public Health in Sustainability Leadership Program.

Upon her return to Turkey, Dr. Erten co-founded Green Building Council of
Turkey, part of a global non-profit organization supporting to design and
build high-performance buildings established to create market transformation in building industry and she serves as the Vice President of the Board responsible for International Relations. She served as the director of Clinton Climate Initiative in İstanbul and several committees including Ministry of Construction and Settlements Sustainability Committee. She also represent Turkey on the LEED-International roundtable of USGBC. She has been an adjunct faculty at Koç and Sabancı Business Schools between 2006-2010.

In 2010 she founded TURKECO Construction and Energy Inc. to manage green communities and building projects and advise on the leading environmental assessment met. She received the WGBC President's AWARD in 2012 for her contributions to global sustainability movement.

USGBC Faculty are the official instructors of USGBC's instructor-led
workshops working with USGBC's education delivery partners.
Dr. Erten is a USGBC LEED Faculty.
