As VP of ESG Issues for NAREIT, Ms. Kocak provides thought leadership,
innovation, guidance and oversight, leading NAREIT’s efforts and programs
tied to sustainability, inclusive of environmental, social and governance
aspects within the REIT industry.

In her previous role with Clark Construction, Ms. Kocak developed the
company's sustainability strategy, coordinated environmental responsibility efforts,
and assisted building owners and developers meet their sustainability goals
cost effectively. In addition, Ms. Kocak managed Clark's nationwide
Sustainability Committee, developed continuing education curriculum for
employees and building professionals and worked with operations staff to
ensure all projects meet their sustainability goals.

Ms. Kocak is the recipient of 2016 “Member of the Year” award from USGBC
National Capital Region Chapter, 2015 Women in Sustainability Leadership
Award from Green Building & Design Magazine and 2014 Mayor's Sustainability
Leadership Award for the District of Columbia. Ms. Kocak has been named a
LEED Fellow in 2014 by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Ms. Kocak served as the Chairwoman of the board at the USGBC National Capital
Region Chapter. As a voting member of the DCRA Green Technical Advisory
Group, she has been influential in developing the District of Columbia's
first green building codes. Ms. Kocak also served as a member of the USGBC's
Materials & Resources Technical Advisory Group's LEED Committee and currently
serves under ASHRAE committee for 189.1 Committee for Design of
High-Performance Green Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings. Ms.
Kocak was recently appointed as the chair of Maryland Green Building Council by
Governor Hogan.
Ms. Kocak is the author of LEED AP, BD+C (v4) Exam Preparation Guide.
