Grant currently serves as a Policy Associate on the Advocacy team at USGBC,
constantly working on a variety of issues ranging from day to day support to
assisting with the organization's growing international presence through
policy research and writing, relationship building and outreach coordination.

Since coming to USGBC as an intern in April 2014, Grant has worked on number
of projects including serving as the lead researcher and author on the Green
Building City Market Briefs - a cooperative project between USGBC, C40, and
World GBC, leading the development of the soon to be launched public policy
library, writing numerous blogs on a wide-range of topics, and helping to
monitor and log metrics on Advocacy Team performance.

Grant Olear is a graduate of the University of Vermont where he earned a
bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies with a special focus on
sustainable development and international policy. After graduating, Grant
worked in the construction industry where he gained hands-on experience in
the built environment. While working construction he gained a better
understanding of how contractors and developers address and solve problems.
