As a consultant at GBS, Hamoda oversees the LEED certification efforts for a variety of project types that include residential, office buildings and mixed-use. Under his direction, project teams and contractors work collectively to pursue high-performance design strategies along the most appropriate path relative to their construction budget and schedule. As a LEED consultant and USGBC Faculty, he facilitates LEED trainings, provides LEED assessment and consulting, and manages final documentation for submission to the USGBC.
His recent LEED project is a site wide LEED consultancy service for a mixed use development in Doha, Qatar. Hamoda manages all aspects of LEED projects from kick-off to close-out, assigning team responsibilities and making sure all documentation is complete and uploaded to LEED Online for the highest level of LEED certification possible within a project’s budget, timeline, and site constraints.
Prior to joining GBS, Hamoda worked on international consultancy offices in Egypt, along with working on environmental urban development projects in Italy and USA. Hamoda studied architecture, earning a master’s degree from Italy that allowed him to focus on sustainability issues within the context of urban development.
In addition to his work as a consultant, Hamoda assists in the development of presentations & training for industry professionals and clients, covering topics from green building planning & design strategies to understanding LEED.
Hamoda is a USGBC Faculty Member. USGBC Faculty are the official instructors of USGBC's instructor-led workshops working with USGBC's education delivery partners. As USGBC Faculty, Hamoda is authorized to teach the following instructor-led workshops:

- LEED 201: Core Concepts and Strategies
- BDC 251: Understanding the Building Design and Construction LEED Rating Systems
- BDC 301: Implementing the Building Design and Construction LEED Rating Systems
