Assistant Project Manager, Laurus Corporation
Hi. My name is James. I was born in Manhasset, New York, and lived as a young child in Great Neck, whose claim to fame is being the backdrop for F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby." At age five, I moved to Santa Monica, California. I am now interning in Rome, Italy, having just graduated with a degree in architecture from the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley.
Designers are blessed with the staggering potential to affect the way we view and interact with ourselves, our environment, and one another. As a student of design, I have sought to engage broader theoretical and expressive contexts within the academic and practical studio experience. I don't believe designers need styles, motifs or genres; we need philosophies. Design doesn't have to be any one thing. Design can be anything.
In addition to design, I enjoy reading and writing, playing guitar, the occasional video game, and watching films. I hope to use my skills as a designer in the film or video game industries as well as environmental design and technology.
