As a LEED Specialist at the U.S. Green Building Council and with a LEED
AP BD+C credential, Jarrod utilizes his experience in the architectural
profession and his work on multiple LEED projects to assist customers with
technical inquiries concerning LEED rating systems and the certification
process. A natural teacher, he is also a valued trainer across multiple
teams, contributing to interdepartmental success by performing quality
assurance on certification reviews, and clarifying key guidance to help
advance the LEED certification process in response to feedback from our
Jarrod grew up in a rural landscape, and obtained his Bachelor of
Architecture degree from Iowa State University. Prior to joining USGBC, he
worked primarily on the design of adaptive reuse and historic preservation
projects, including commercial, office, education, and mixed-use development.
His private practice work led to a specialty designing intensive green roofs
in urban settings, detailing experiences that would magnify the natural
world. He currently resides in Columbus, Ohio, and can often be found
applying his creativity outside in his urban garden.
