Jason Kliwinski, AIA, LEED™AP BD+C and O+M is a founding partner at the
Green Building Center with regional offices in New York and New Jersey. Jason
has more than thirteen years of experience in the practice of architecture
and integration of cost effective sustainable design. Mr. Kliwinski earned
his Bachelor's degree in architecture from NJIT in 1994. In 2001 Jason
obtained his architectural license in New Jersey and became one of the first
LEED Accredited Professional in the country as well.

Jason’s hands-on expertise in designing sustainable, holistic buildings
ranges from historic preservation and adaptive reuse to new structures in
various market sectors, carbon neutrality master planning, to net zero energy
buildings and large scale solar installations. Jason has been integrally
involved with dozens of projects using the LEED guidelines, including Gold
Certified projects such as Microsoft School of the Future in Philadelphia.
His experience demonstrates that both cost effective and sustainable
solutions can be implemented while obtaining LEED certification. Jason is a
firm believer that it does not cost more to build green.

Jason is a USGBC Faculty and an adjunct professor in Sustainable Design at
NJIT’s Masters Program. He is a frequently requested speaker at major
conferences throughout the world, such as Sustainable Construction Materials
and Practices Conference, GovEnergy, WEEC, SCUP, Greenbuild, and AIA. He is
the Northeast Regional COTE Chair for AIA nationally and also co-founder of
the New Jersey Chapter of USGBC, remaining active as a member of the Advisory
Board today. In 2012 Jason was named a LEED Fellow at Greenbuild in San

achieving ever higher levels of certification to the LEED Platinum and Living

energy, carbon neutrality, and net zero building design across all market
sectors, including higher education, k-12, commercial/corporate, and
preservation/adaptive reuse occupy a substantial portion of Jason's time
