H. Jay Enck, LEED® Fellow + AP BD+C, CxAP, HPDP, CPMP, BEAP
Mr. H. Jay Enck is the Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer of Commissioning & Green Building Solutions, Inc. (CxGBS®) and a nationally-recognized leader in commissioning and the application of sustainable design and development principles. As Senior Commissioning Authority, LEED Fellow and LEED® Accredited Professional for CxGBS, Mr. Enck, has more than 40-years of general construction experience in HVAC, plumbing, and alternative energy systems. His experience includes energy efficiency analysis, and problem solving related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, IAQ and moisture, mildew, and energy efficiency. Mr. Enck is a member of ASHRAE technical committees on building commissioning and sustainable development and co-authored the first three editions of ASHRAE Green Guide and the Advanced Energy Guides. He is a voting member of Standard 202, The Commissioning Process for Building and Systems released in 2013. He is author of the IFMA Guide to Retro-Commissioning released in 2011, and co-wrote the commissioning requirements for LEED® V4.
Mr. Enck is a recognized expert who has helped develop the following certifications and guidelines:
• ASHRAE High Performing Building Design Professional;
• ASHRAE Commissioning Process Management Professional;
• ASHRAE Building Energy Assessment Professional;
• USGBC ‘s LEED Accredited Professional examinations for new construction, commercial interiors, and existing buildings specialties; and
• the National Institute of Building Science and Department of Energy’s national Better Building Workforce Guidelines.
A founding Board Member of the Atlanta Regional Chapter of USGBC, Mr. Enck is a past board member of the Southeast Regional Chapter of the Building Commissioning Association. He currently serves as Secretary of the International Building Commissioning Association. Mr. Enck has extensive work in the development of the LEED® Rating Systems and experience with LEED® certification and commissioning of more than $4 billion in construction including assisting more than 60 project teams achieve LEED® certification.
