Joseph Sanches is the Executive Vice President of D. Stephenson Construction, Inc. a mid-sized construction firm providing construction management, general contracting and design-build services primarily in Florida. The firm has a 20 year history of building multimillion dollar public and private commercial projects including numerous buildings and complexes earning LEED certification.
Prior to that Joseph was the Chief of Support Operations for the Palm Beach County School District, the 11th largest school district in the country with a student enrollment of over 174,000 students in 187 schools. In that capacity Joe oversaw the construction of approximately 90 new and replacement schools and construction projects valued at over $2 million from 2002 until 2013. Joe is credited with taking sustainable construction to a higher level at the School District including building the first LEED Gold school in Florida, Pine Jog Elementary School. He also implemented several other green practices such as green cleaning in all schools as well as policies for energy and water conservation and improved indoor air quality.
Before arriving at the School District in 2002, Joe spent 20 years in the private sector working for such companies as Bovis Land Lease, Tishman and Heery International were he provided program and project management for schools, malls, prisons, hotels and other buildings in New York, New Jersey, Atlanta and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Joe has earned an AAS degree in Construction Technology from New York City Technical College, a BPS degree in Construction Management from Pratt Institute and a MBA in Management from Baruch College.
