For more than 15 years, Julia Feder has been helping a wide-range of private and non-profit institutions integrate and customize sustainability education within their business models. As the Director of Education for the U.S. Green Building Council, Julia ensures that learners as varied as vocational technology students, building science PhD candidates, and workforce veterans have the tools, resources, and experiences they need to thrive in today’s green economy.
Before joining the USGBC national staff, Julia coordinated the Missouri Botanical Garden’s sustainability education programs, taught fourth grade and helped start a farmers market to serve an urban neighborhood. While Julia loves her car-free, urban commute, she looks forward to any opportunity to get outside of the city with her two dogs.
Julia holds a B.A. in English Literature and Psychology from the University of Michigan and a M.S. in Environmental Studies with a focus in environmental education from Antioch University.
