Unintentionally I think, my grandmother and father inspired me to become an architect. She was a drapery and upholstery saleswoman for Sears and Roebuck with impeccable taste in interiors and he worked as a steel factory engineer whose relentless high standards and driving energy greatly influenced me.
Architecture changed my life. It not only shaped my education, but also introduced me to the cultures and diversities of the world. My eyes are now open to looking beyond this place. As Frank Lloyd Wright said, “The mother art is architecture”, the impetus to create. Soul, passion, adventure, creativity; we as architects make spaces for life to happen!
