Since graduating in 1993 from the University of Western Ontario with degree in Geography (with special attention to Urban Physical Geography), Karl Travis has been interested with the term "sustainability" since it was coined by the Bruntland Commission in the late 1980's. Sustainability, green or eco design seem to be the catch-all phrase of the current generation and seems to be used liberally. He understands the need to specify products that are sourced locally, with recycled materials, energy efficient, durable and with proven sustainable harvesting or manufacturing.
