Linda K. Smith is the current Executive Director of the U.S. Green Building Council – Arkansas Chapter. She graduated in 1984 from the University of Arkansas with a BS in Chemical Engineering and spent 15 years working in the petroleum industry in technical sales and engineering support with accounts in the Midsouth region. Following early retirement, she spent two years as the Executive Director of a 1600 member nonprofit youth sports organization and then as the communications director for the Little Rock Public Education Foundation. She became the Executive Director of the USGBC- Arkansas Chapter in 2009. Linda is an active community volunteer for large nonprofit construction projects and served as the owner’s representative for the $2M renovation of the historic Junior League Building and as the Building Committee chair for the $5M renovation of Second Presbyterian Church. In 2010 she was named the VIPs Jane Mendel Volunteer of the Year for the 26,000 member Little Rock School District. Her passion is public school and math curriculum improvement.
