Lynn N. Simon, FAIA, LEED Fellow, LEED® AP BD+C, is President of Simon & Associates, Inc., Green Building Consultants. Established in 1994, Simon & Associates, Inc. is a nationally recognized green building consulting firm. The firm uses a practical and collaborative approach and offers a wide range of services to advance sustainable and healthy building design and construction practices.
Lynn is a green building pioneer and a leading authority in the industry with over 20 years in the green building arena. Lynn has served on the Board of Directors of several building industry organizations, including the AIA San Francisco Chapter Board for four years and the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Board for six years. Lynn currently serves on USGBC’s Education Steering Committee and LEED Steering Committee. She is a Master USGBC® Faculty member, a LEED® Accredited Professional, and a Certified Green Building Professional.
USGBC Faculty are the official instructors of USGBC's instructor-led workshops working with USGBC's education delivery partners. As USGBC Faculty, Lynn is authorized to teach the following instructor-led workshops:
- LEED 101: Green Building Basics and LEED
- LEED 201: Core Concepts and Strategies
- BDC 251: Understanding the Building Design and Construction LEED Rating Systems
- BDC 301: Implementing the Building Design and Construction LEED Rating Systems
Lynn is a licensed Architect in California and received her AIA Fellowship in 2009. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from UC Berkeley and a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. In 2003, she received the AIACC Presidential Citation Public Service Honor Award, and in 2005 was named one of 25 Environmental Champions by EnvironDesign Journal. Most recently, at Greenbuild 2011 in Toronto, Lynn was honored with USGBC’s President’s Award.
