Micaela is co-founder and Principal of Green Buildings Sustainability Consulting Group. With over eight years of experience spearheading the sustainability industry in the commercial and private real-estate sector, providing both educational and consulting services in regards to Sustainability.
She received a Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Miami and served as a design and construction consultant for many firms. She now acts as the sustainability consultant on over 6,000,000 sf of mixed-use developments, and coordinates LEED certification process and energy efficiency practices.
She is a recognized leader skilled at helping people, companies, buildings, and communities to implement and benefit from sustainability-focused solutions. Micaela applies her diverse project experience and whole-systems perspective to enable teams of people to develop creative approaches to realize greater success in their work.
Micaela has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2009, and currently holds the LEED AP BD+C Credential and became USGBC Faculty in 2013. USGBC Faculty are the official instructors of USGBC's instructor-led workshops working with USGBC's education delivery partners. As USGBC Faculty Micaela is authorized to teach the following instructor-led workshops:
- LEED 101: Green Building Basics and LEED
- LEED 201: Core Concepts and Strategies
- BDC 251: Understanding the Building Design and Construction LEED Rating Systems
- BDC 301: Implementing the Building Design and Construction LEED Rating Systems
