Michael Arny has been a leader on energy, environmental and sustainability
issues for more than 30 years. He founded the charitable, nonprofit
organization Leonardo Academy in 1997 to advance sustainability and to put
the competitive market to work on improving the environment.
Michael Arny is a member of the USGBC LEED Advisory Committee.
Michael leads Leonardo Academy’s program and consulting work on: LEED®
implementation and certification support; emissions footprints, reductions
and offsets; event emissions footprints, sustainability assessments and
implementation; sustainable event certification through its Cleaner and
Greener® Program; supply chain sustainability; overall sustainability
assessments and implementation; sustainable standards development; land
management; and sustainability training.
Michael Arny earned a BS and MS in mechanical engineering and a BA in
psychology and Russian language at the University of Wisconsin. Michael Arny
is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin and a LEED
