Nate supports the ongoing development of the U.S. Green Building Council’s National Green Schools Campaign. Through partnerships with national education organizations, schools, and local, state and federal governments, Nate educates elected officials and national advocates about the benefits of green educational facilities for students, teachers, and communities. In particular, Nate works closely with a network of leading mayors, state legislators, and representatives on Capitol Hill to develop resources and promote programs that encourage the vision of green schools for all within this generation.
Prior to joining USGBC, Nate taught history and political science at Winchester College in the United Kingdom. Nate holds a bachelor’s degree in urban history from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was also captain of the heavyweight rowing team.
He resides in his home city of Washington, D.C.
