Nellie is a sustainable design expert specializing in the LEED green building rating system and the Living Building Challenge. Since moving to Ireland in 2011, she operates as a sole trader providing LEED consulting services to developers, architects and building contractors. She’s currently consulting on multiple projects in Ireland pursuing LEED certification. She was recognized as the “Best Emerging Green Business” by the North Tipperary County Enterprise Board in 2013. She is a board member of the Living Building Institute of Ireland, Treasurer of the Tipperary Green Business Network and a member of the Irish Green Building Council. Nellie has presented on numerous occasions through the RIAI, IGBC, UCD and Ecovillage in Cloughjordan. Prior to her move to Ireland, Nellie spent 15 years at Gensler, an architecture, design and planning firm based in the U.S. with 40 offices worldwide. She served as a sustainable design consultant on over 100 LEED projects around the world and developed the sustainable design curriculum during her tenure at the firm. She was one of the first LEED APs in the world in 2001 and was selected to be in the inaugural class of LEED Fellows in 2011. Nellie holds both a B. of Arts in Architecture and a B. of Architecture from Rice University.
