Hello world

Nicolette Mueller

Nicolette serves as the regional lead for the U.S. Green Building Council’s work in Latin America. She works with business leaders and green building councils throughout the region to advance USGBC’s mission to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated across the globe.

Using her extensive knowledge of global markets, Nicolette partners with member companies and individuals across the built environment help them use a portfolio of tools – including LEED, WELL, SITES and TRUE – to achieve their sustainability goals. She supported the launch of LEED Labs, a multidisciplinary course that educates and prepares students to become green building leaders, in universities in Peru, Mexico, El Salvador and Guatemala. In 2018, she helped launch the inaugural Greenbuild México conference, which recognized and honored sustainability leadership across Latin America. Through her work with Grupo Aeroportuario de la Ciudad de México, MAKRO supermarkets, COPEC, and dozens of USGBC member firms in Latin America, Nicolette has helped bring new resources to the region that support the ongoing efforts to improve resilience and address key issues related to climate change. She is currently focused on expanding the capacity of GBCI with office and professional staff in Mexico, Colombia and Brazil.

Nicolette is fluent in Spanish and holds Master's Degrees in both Public Administration and International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs at Syracuse University. She is a proud undergraduate of the University of California, Santa
Cruz, and has deep family roots in California wine country.
