Onell Gonzalez BSc LEED AP OM

Onell González-Martínez received a Bachelors Degree in Environmental
Science from the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. Took several
graduated courses of a Master Degree in Environmental Planning curriculum
from the Graduated School of Planning of the UPR, and is currently developing
thesis work for a Master of Science Degree in Green Building of the San
Francisco Institute of Architecture in California, US; Mr. González possess
the USGBC's LEED AP O+M credential; is an EPA / PREQB accredited Lead-based Paint Inspector; EPA / PREQB accredited Asbestos Inspector; Certified Mold Assessor and Indoor Air & Surface Quality accredited professional. He also receives numerous hours of continuing education in Indoor Environmental Quality, Building Science & Industrial Hygiene.

Mr. González served as a Green Building Certification Institute’s
Education Provider and Course Submitter on behalf of the USGBC-Caribbean
Chapter; colaborated as an active member and Chair of the Education
Committee; and served as the LEED v4 Point of Contact for the Chapter. He
also participated as collaborator of the LEED 2012 (LEED V4) Regionalization
Task Force. In addition, Mr. González is a member of the International
Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ) and member of the Indoor
Air Quality Association (IAQA).

As an experienced sustainability educational speaker and green building
trainer , Mr. González has created and offered basic green building
lectures, and LEED Green Associate's Credential Study Courses at the College
of Architects and Landscape Architects of Puerto Rico (CAAPPR), the College
of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR), the Realtors' Institute of
Puerto Rico, and in higher education institutions such as the Mayaguez Campus
and Rio Piedras Campus of the University of Puerto Rico, the Polytechnic
University of Puerto Rico, the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico
and others. He has also facilitated instructor-led workshops of the USGBC’s
Education Curriculum on behalf of the USGBC US Caribbean Chapter and was
formerly admitted as a USGBC Faculty member in 2013. In addition, he was
recently admitted as professor at the Professional Studies and Continuing
Education Division of the University of PR in Rio Piedras to offer the LEED Green
Associate's Credential Study Course.

Mr. González has also received certifications and training in Agroforestry
and Permaculture Design from the Permaculture Institute of Puerto Rico,
organization for which he served as an active participant and collaborator;
as such, he has been invited by the Permaculture Institute to participate as
panelist in forums on sustainable development and permaculture design at the
University of Puerto Rico.

Mr. González works for the environmental consulting firm Zimmetry
Environmental Management as a professional industrial hygienist and green
building advisor & trainer, conducting and overseeing industrial and
environmental hygiene investigations among others. As such, he has been
directly involved in over 800 environmental building assessments, at a wide
range of building typologies, for the government, the Navy, the Army, leading
architecture and engineering firms, federal agencies, pharmaceutical
industries, commercial and private building owners, and many others.
