Hello world

Rebecca Dunn Bryant, is the managing partner and senior consultant with Watershed. Watershed partners with architecture and engineering teams, building owners, developers and contractors to create green building solutions tailored to the specific climate and culture of the deep south.

Watershed offers professional education and training to architects, engineers, realtors, and LEED Accredited Professionals. We also work with local schools to provide green building field trips to the next generation of green leaders. Rebecca is frequently a featured speaker at regional sustainability conferences in Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Since 2008, she has provided green building training to over 2,500 professionals and over 250 school children.

Rebecca is a registered architect and has been a LEED accredited professional since 2002. She is also trained and certified in Permaculture Design and Passive House Consulting. Rebecca has served in a leadership capacity with the US Green Building Council for 10 years, currently as LEED faculty.

Prior to co-founding Watershed in 2008, she worked with Bailey Architects in Houston, TX and Walcott Adams Verneuille Architects in Fairhope, Alabama. Her architectural project experience ranges from the second LEED certified church in the nation, educational and laboratory facilities, to green model homes for the first conservation community in the gulf south. Ms Bryant also designed her family’s green demonstration home, which was featured on Planet Green’s Renovation Nation. Rebecca has received a Synergy Award from the Citizen’s Environmental Coalition, been recognized as one of 9 “Green Leaders in Red States” by Fortune Magazine and recently voted one of her region’s “Top 40 under 40.” She is the first LEED faculty member in the state of Alabama.

As a sustainability consultant Rebecca manages the LEED certification of new and existing commercial buildings and homes, and helps to create project specific sustainability goals for her clients. She has been pursuing her passion in sustainable development for over 20 years, and has spent the past 14 years focused on sustainable design, construction, and operational strategies for the hot humid south. While the growing green building movement is international, her approach is decidedly local.
