Rebecca is an experienced project-based consultant with an architectural background and a focus in high-performance design for sustainable buildings.
Prior to working on Altanova’s management team, Rebecca worked at CodeGreen Solutions as Associate Director, directly managing and overseeing sustainable building certification projects to over 100 client teams worldwide. Rebecca also worked in IT project management within the company to develop and expand a proprietary online tracking software for sustainability.
With the support of a Fulbright grant, Rebecca Schmidt earned her M.A. in Architecture in Germany at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, focusing on energy-optimizing buildings. She earned her B.Arch at Carnegie Mellon University with a minor in Business Management. During the 2007 Solar Decathlon in Washington DC, a competition to construct the most attractive, effective, and energy-efficient solar-powered house, Rebecca served as the solar thermal specialist and financial manager for the Carnegie Mellon team.
Rebecca is a LEED AP ID+C and Certified Passive House consultant.
