With the support of a Fulbright grant, Rebecca Schmidt earned her M.A. in Architecture in Germany at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, focusing on high-performance building design. She earned her B.Arch at Carnegie Mellon University with a minor in Business Management. Ms. Schmidt has extensive experience working with energy-modeling simulation programs in the design, renovation and optimization of energy-efficient structures, meeting stringent energy standards, such as Passivhaus. During the 2007 Solar Decathlon in Washington DC, a competition to construct the most attractive, effective, and energy-efficient solar-powered house, she served as the solar thermal specialist and financial manager. Her prior successful experience in architecture firms working to certify LEED-CI projects and create construction drawing sets has proven valuable in her current position as a Senior Project Manager at CodeGreen. Ms. Schmidt presently consults clients with existing buildings, new construction and commercial interiors projects on how to achieve LEED certification.
