Mr. Berry has a BSME degree from the University of Texas, and is a registered PE in three states. He has 14 years of experience as an HVAC systems designer, and was a principal in the firm, DLR Group, before founding Building Commissioning, LLC in October, 2002. In 1990, he designed an award-winning central plant for the Lancaster City-County Building/Jail complex that uses ammonia compressors and well water to make ice for a thermal storage system in the summer, and hot water for heating in the winter. In 1991, he was awarded the ASHRAE Society Energy Award for a geothermal heat pump system design for a K-12 school in Sloan, Iowa. In 1992, he joined Trigen Energy Corporation, where he developed and conceptually designed a 10,000-ton District Chilled Water System, which began service to 11 buildings in Downtown Kansas City in 1997.
