ROB BOLIN, PE, LEED AP BD+C, ASHRAE HBDP
Rob is a Senior Vice President with Syska Hennessy Group’s Chicago Office and National Director of High Performance Building Solutions, has 22 years of sustainable consulting engineering experience. His expertise in sustainable architectural engineering includes green building designs for passive, low energy systems such as natural and mixed-mode ventilation, displacement ventilation, radiant heating and cooling, and building integrated renewable energy systems. He is working on several projects that seeking to be energy neutral or regenerative. Rob also leads Syska’s firmwide engineering leadership committee.
Recent high performance projects include UC Berkeley Student Community Center; UCSB Bioengineering Building in Santa Barbara; Miami Science Museum; Busan Lotte Tower in South Korea; 1800 F Street GSA Headquarters Modernization in Washington, DC; Pearl River Tower in Guangzhou, China; EPA Region 8 Headquarters Building, Denver, CO (LEED Gold); Santa Monica Library, CA (LEED Gold), Santa Clarita Transit Facility, CA (LEED Gold); NRDC Santa Monica HQ Office, CA (LEED Platinum); and Porticullis House, London.
Rob has presented on sustainability and high performance design at numerous local, regional and national conferences, has an MSAE degree from Penn State University and a BSAE from University of Colorado, is a licensed professional engineer in numerous states, and is a certified ASHRAE High Performance Building Design Professional. Rob is active in ASHRAE, AEE, AIA Cote, USGBC, is a former founding member of the board of directors of the Los Angeles Chapter of the USGBC, and a National Peer of the GSA Design Excellence program.
