I’ve worked in the 17 CES, Civil Engineer Squadron at Goodfellow AFB for 25 years as well as earlier as a Resident Engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District and prior to Federal civil service for about 4 years as a consultant engineer. At Goodfellow my home, I’ve continually been challenged with a wide variety of difficult projects requiring hard work and increasing responsibility as both a project manager/design engineer and working supervisor Fight Chief. Originally I was hired as the Design Chief (now Project Management Chief) and later promoted to the Engineering Flight Chief position having been over several decades the project manager for a myriad of key Goodfellow facilities. My Engineering Flight Chief (17 CES/CEN) responsibilities included supervision of a 9-person flight (currently), all base comprehensive planning, contract programming, engineering design and construction management
.
My undergraduate degree was in civil engineering from the Virginia Military Institute, and I also have an MBA from Angelo State University. So my disciplines, projects and my specialized work experiences include project management, technical writing, hydraulics, sustainable design, structural engineering and construction management. I’m a licensed Professional Engineer and a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional, all of which I believe provides me with a depth of professional knowledge and range of professional work experiences to enable me to perform at a high level right now as well as offering many future years of valuable service to continued serve both the Air Force and Goodfellow. During my career at Goodfellow, I have twice received the Air Force Exemplary Service Award, Air Force Achievement Award, 17 TRW Supervisor of the Year and numerous other awards including most recently the 2015 2nd Quarter, 17 CES Supervisor of the Quarter. My Professional Military Education includes both Air Command and Staff College (ACSC) and Air War College (AWC). “
