Practicing occupant-centric architectural daylighting and lighting design for more than fifteen years, Samantha has supported more than a hundred building projects throughout the US and internationally. With the advent of the USGBC and the public's interest in increased energy efficiency, Samantha's design experience in energy effective lighting design and service on ASHRAE 90.1 provided her with a strong platform to branch into whole building environmental design. Her focus continues to be occupant-based: a successful building is one which meets the needs of the occupants while using the least amount of natural resources to do so.
Samantha founded LaFleur Associates in 2010, following five years as leader of the Baltimore office for Atelier Ten. Her time at Atelier Ten was preceeded by years with The RETEC Group, Hayden McKay Lighting Design Inc, and Fisher Marantz Stone, of New York, NY.
Samantha is a member of the Illuminating Engineers Society of North America, the International Association of Lighting Designers, and serves as reviewer / commenter for the IALD's Energy & Sustainability Committee, which she founded in 2003.
