Theresa, named a LEED Fellow in 2012, has dedicated her entire career to sustainable practice. She has worked on over 75 projects seeking LEED certification utilizing numerous LEED green building rating systems and has successfully certified projects in many market segments that have been awarded Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum LEED certifications. Several of the projects she has led as the LEED Project Administrator are highly regarded and recognized throughout the industry including the Aldo Leopold Legacy Center (first zero-net energy LEED certified project) and the renovation and expansion of the Lake Mills Middle School (first public K-12 school to earn Platinum LEED certification). Theresa is currently proud to be “leeding” the new Lake Mills Elementary School project piloting the LEED v4 Beta program, the only K-12 project piloting the LEED v4 Beta program.
Theresa has been an active volunteer and member of USGBC. She has served on several LEED exam writing panels, and is a former Curriculum Committee member and reviewer of USGBC’s Education Provider Program. Currently she is an active advocacy volunteer serving as the co-chair of USGBC's Common Ground Around Green Schools national campaign.
Locally, Theresa co-chairs the Advocacy Committee of the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance (WGBA) and is a member of the Green Schools Committee. She represents the labor industry on the state-appointed Wisconsin Environmental Education Board (WEEB) and is a board member of Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council.
Theresa has presented at several Greenbuild conferences, National Green Schools Conferences, and WGBA SE2 Conferences. She has also represented USGBC at the 2010 World Climate Summit and WGBA at the 2014 Green Schools Summit.
As the Director of Sustainable Services for Miron Construction Co., Inc., Theresa’s role is to inspire sustainability throughout Miron’s culture, integrate “green” into Miron’s business practices and construction operations, lead their sustainable education program for their employees, design/build partners, and clients on the importance and benefits of sustainability, and advocating to legislators on sustainability and project delivery methods, and serve as the LEED Project Administrator for projects seeking LEED certification. Under her leadership, Miron's LEED project portfolio includes over 50 LEED projects valued at $640 million. Notable sustainable accomplishments include Gold LEED certification of their corporate office, recognition as the top scoring Green Master company among Wisconsin businesses four-years running, being awarded partnership with Wisconsin's DNR Green Tier Program, and the award of Corporate Report magazine's 2011 Corporate Environmental Citizen of the Year.
As USGBC Faculty, Theresa has taught numerous LEED workshops throughout the world. Theresa is credentialed as a LEED AP BD+C, ID+C, and is an Education Partner of USGBC. Most recently, she was named ENR magazine's top 20 under 40.
