Tom Nelson is an architect who brings more than 25 years of experience in
planning and designing a broad range of building types both nationally and
internationally. He has led the design of projects which have received LEED
certification at Gold and Platinum levels.

Tom Nelson is an architect who brings more than 25 years of experience in
planning and designing a broad range of building types both nationally and
internationally. He has led the design of projects which have received LEED
certification at Gold and Platinum levels.

His presence in the sustainable design community and years of design
experience extends beyond his professional work in the form of community
involvement and leadership positions with USGBC. He is a founding board
member and past chair of the Los Angeles Chapter of the USGBC and served as a
board member of the Cascadia region green building council. He represented
Cascadia as a vice-chair of the Pacific Regional Council and as a member of
the Chapter Steering Committee for USGBC national.

Tom is a past chair of the City of Seattle Design Commission,
where he advocated for the highest level of building performance for projects
within Seattle. He also participates in the technical advisory group for
Seattle’s Living Building Pilot Program, advising the city on projects
seeking the program goals of net zero energy and water.
