Wes Sullens is the Policy & Advocacy Manager for the local government agency StopWaste in Alameda County, California. Wes works on regional energy and green building codes & standards advocacy; recycling and materials management programs & standards; and statewide legislation for materials management. Mr. Sullens is a member of the LEED Materials & Resources Technical Advisory Group for the USGBC, the ASHRAE Standard 189.1 committee for High Performance Green Buildings, UL Environment Standard 2799 for Zero Waste claims by manufacturers, is a technical contributor to the GreenPoint Rated program of Build It Green, and has participated in the adoption and implementation of the California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen) since 2009. Prior to StopWaste, Mr. Sullens was a green building consultant and energy analyst at a prominent consulting firm in the Bay Area.
